When I painted this leaf blanketed path through a misty autumn forest, I hoped to
capture the sense of awe and comfort that large, old fall colored trees in this beloved
season evoke in me. I also desired to inspire the feeling of expectation and allure as
one's mind travels through the painting down this majestic trail.
Proverbs 3:5-6 describes the surety and peace we can rest in as we traverse the
path of life, if we will simply trust in the Lord with all our heart, regardless of all
contrary human, worldly wisdom. As I have trusted in God for the direction of,
protection of and provision for my life, it has become as exquisite and delightful as
this scene...yet, I still do not know what is in store for me in the future-the view is
obscured from me-and there are even some shadows in my present life, but there is
light enough to experience unprecedented joy and exceeding beauty.
